Home Learning Toolkit - January Newsletter
Dear Home Learning Toolkit Participants,

Happy New Year! We are excited to kick off 2024 with you. Let's make this year a fantastic one for learning and bonding with your children.
Parenting Tip
Set Goals Together: Start the new year by setting goals with your children. Discuss what they want to achieve, whether it's related to school, hobbies, or personal growth. Setting goals teaches them about planning and perseverance.
Activities
-
Vision Board Creation: Gather magazines, scissors, glue, and poster boards. Have your children cut out pictures and words that represent their goals and dreams for the year. It's a fun way to visualize their aspirations.

-
Winter Nature Walk: Bundle up and take a walk in a local park or nature reserve. Observe how nature changes during winter. Look for animal tracks, identify trees, and enjoy the crisp air.

-
Homemade Bird Feeder: Create bird feeders using pinecones, peanut butter, and birdseed. Hang them outside and watch the birds come to visit. It's a great way to teach children about wildlife.

January is named after Janus, the Roman god of doors and beginnings. Janus is depicted with two faces, one looking forward and one looking backward, symbolizing the transition from the old year to the new one.
